Privacy policy
This policy applies to the website of the SIB Media Lab at media.startup-incubator.berlin, operated by Startup Incubator Berlin – the Entrepreneurship Center of HWR Berlin.
1. Controller

2. Legal bases for processing
Personal data is generally only processed insofar as this is necessary to provide a functioning website and our content and services.
- Consent: Where we obtain consent, Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR serves as the legal basis.
- Public task: For processing necessary to perform a task carried out in the public interest or in the exercise of official authority, Art. 6 (1) (e) GDPR in conjunction with § 6 BlnDSG and § 4 BerlHG serves as the legal basis.
3. Provision of the website and log files
Each time the site is accessed, our system automatically collects: browser type and version, operating system, IP address (anonymised by deleting the last octet), date and time of access, and the referrer page. The data is stored in log files, is not combined with other data and is deleted after no later than 7 days. Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (e) GDPR in conjunction with § 6 BlnDSG.
4. Cookies
Cookies are text files stored in your browser on your device.
- Strictly necessary cookies: used to make the website user-friendly – e.g. a cookie storing your language preference (
sib_lang, lifetime 30 days). Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (e) GDPR / § 25 (2) TDDDG. - Non-essential cookies/services: loaded only after your explicit consent (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR, § 25 (1) TDDDG).
5. Consent management (cookie banner)
We use the consent management platform Real Cookie Banner (devowl.io GmbH, Germany) to manage your consents. It stores your choice in your browser or in a cookie so that non-essential services are loaded only after you agree. You can withdraw or change your settings at any time via the "Cookie settings" link at the bottom of the page.
6. Contact and request forms
When you use our forms (e.g. "Request a format" or the labs/studios usage agreement), we process the data you provide (incl. name, e-mail address, request) in order to handle your enquiry. The data is stored in our system and sent to media@startup-incubator.berlin. Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (e) GDPR (public task) or Art. 6 (1) (a)/(b) GDPR. The data is deleted once it is no longer required for the purpose and no statutory retention obligations apply.
7. Hosting
This website is hosted by ALL-INKL.COM – Neue Medien Münnich, owner René Münnich, Hauptstraße 68, 02742 Friedersdorf, Germany. The provider processes data arising from the operation of the website on our behalf (order processing pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR). Processing takes place on servers in Germany.
8. Web fonts
For a consistent appearance we use Bunny Fonts (BunnyWay d. o. o., Slovenia/EU) – a privacy-friendly font delivery without transferring personal data to Google. No cookies are set and no logging for tracking purposes takes place.
9. Videos
Moving-image backgrounds on this site are served directly from our own server (no YouTube/Vimeo embeds). No data is transmitted to third parties.
10. Web analytics
This website uses no analytics services (such as Google Analytics or Matomo) to track user behaviour; no usage profiles are created. Should non-essential services be integrated in future, this will only happen after your consent via the cookie banner (see point 5).
11. External content
Where we embed third-party content, this is done to protect your data via a two-click solution or only after your consent. Data (such as your IP address) is only transmitted once you explicitly activate the content.
12. Your rights
If your personal data is processed, you have the following rights vis-à-vis the controller:
